Course Description:
One of the main goals of this course is to move students toward “health literacy”. Health literacy is the capacity of individuals to obtain, interpret, and understand basic health information, services and the competence to use such information and service in the ways, which promote health. Young adults also need the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to make choices that promote optimal health and wellness, which will be practiced in class. Units include: Reducing the Risk (of pregnancy and STD's*); Social and Emotional Health; Nutrition and Physical Education; Safety; Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs; and Personal Health and Wellness. The links below will get you to get information, assignments and notes you may have missed due to as absence or a suspension.
