Entrances/Exits

The building will be opened for students at 7:50AM.  Students may only enter the building from the main entrance (near the main office) or the rear entrance (by the loading dock).  Only buses will be allowed in the loop (in the front of the building) from 7:45 to 8:15AM.  Any parents dropping off students in the AM will do so in the parking lot near the loading dock in the rear of the school.  Students must wait in the cafeteria until the bell at 8:00AM.

Those students who wish to meet with a teacher prior to the bell at 8:00AM must have permission from a teacher.  Once permission has been granted by the cafeteria monitor, the student will report directly to the supervising teacher.

During the school day, all doors will remain locked and closed.  All students leaving (and re-entering) the building because of appointments, school to work, and/or dual enrollment must exit (and enter) through the main entrance.  Appropriate sign-out and sign-in procedures must always be utilized.

Appropriate exits are designated in the building evacuation plans in case of emergency.

Dismissal Procedures

During dismissal, only buses will be permitted in the loop (in the front of the building).

All students riding buses should report to the designated areas in the front of the building as soon as possible immediately following the dismissal bell.

Students getting rides from parents/guardians must obtain their rides in the parking lot outside of the loading dock.

All student walkers should leave the school property by using the sidewalk that parallels Route 414 and extends toward the Liberty downtown.  All students crossing Route 414 must use the crosswalk between the high school and elementary school.  Students must always follow the directions of school staff and crossing guards to maintain safety in these areas.

Student drivers will exit the building by the main office and utilize the sidewalk around the bus loop rather than cutting across the bus loop.  Drivers will proceed with extreme caution as they walk around the loop and the student parking areas. When student drivers are leaving the parking lots in their vehicles, they must always give pedestrians, parents/guardians, and buses the right of way.  Student drivers should also proceed with extreme caution through the congested areas on Route 414 during dismissal.  Directions of school staff and crossing guards must always be followed.
