Volleyball: Let the Games Begin

by Sadie Shockley

The Lady Raiders volleyball had their first game on August 31st at 6 P.M. in Lewiston, and their next game is a triangular at Weeping Water on September 7th. They started practicing a week before school, starting off with two a day, a practice in the morning and a practice at night. That first week they did a lot of conditioning to get ready for their season. I talked to a couple volleyball girls and asked them a few questions about the upcoming season.

The first question I asked was how they thought their season is going to go. Taylor Shaw (12) said, “I think our season is going to be very, very good, because I think all of us get along really well. I feel like we can win a lot of games, because we have a great team!” When asked the same question, Sarah Garrels (12) replied, “I'm really excited for the season. I think we get along really well, and even if we don't win a lot, I know we will make a lot of improvements.” Both of the girls said they are going to miss this team and all the girls after they graduate.

The volleyball girls I talked to seemed pretty confident they will have some great wins this year. Good Luck to all the volleyball girls!
