Kayak with someone who knows what they are doing, if you go alone be sure to tell someone where you are going and what time you will plan to be back.
Have proper equipment and know how to use it in case of an emergency.
Dress water temperature not air temperature because if you fall in the water, the water temperature is colder than the air and you will become hypothermic.
Mild: Shivering and reduced circulation.
Moderate: Slow, weak pulse, slowed breathing, lack of coordination, irritability, confusion and sleepy behaviour.
Severe: Slow, weak, or absent respiration and pulse.
