Poverty prevailing in urban areas is termed as urban poverty. A person who consumes less than 2100 calories from his food intake per day is said to be urban poor. Urban poor live in slums. They live in unhygenic conditions, there is lack of drainage, toilets, and basic amenities. Their lives are miserable than rural poors because they are exposed to all types of pollution and they resolve to crimes, theft, extortion, and all types of antisocial activities for their livelihood.
