A) ECONOMIC MEASURES :- To control population growth , vigorous efforts are needed on the economic front such as expansion of industrial sector , creation of job opportunities, removal of poverty etc. This would lead to improvement in standard of living. Awarness of the benefits of a small family would led to reduction in the size of the family.
B) SOCIAL MEASURES :- Education helps to wipe out superstitions , orthodoxy , ignorance and traditional way of living. Improvement in the status of women has also helped them size of the family .
C) FAMILY PLANNING PROGRAMME :- The government of India introduced the family planning programme in 1952. In intial stages in order to bring awareness among the people different media like radia, cinems , television , posters and newspapers were used to promote the idea of small family. Family planning centres were started at different parts of the country to provide counselling and guidance regarding family planning and also to distribute contraceptives free of cost to people. Government has given priority to family planning programmes.
