Jahangir was known to be tolerant of all religions.The arts , particularly painting,flourished under his supervision Under Jahangir's patronage Mughal painting and music reached high standards of development . As a nature-loving person , Jahangir encouraged artists to paint flowers and birds . Jahangir loved animals , particularly deer and constructed a large drinking tank for animals at Sheikhpura. He was a gifted writer and his memoirs Tuzk-i-Jahangiri written in Persian , match those of Babur.
