Babur
The founder of the Mughal Empire was Zahiruddin Mohammad who was popularly known as Babur. Babur was related to Timur through his father and to Chengiz Khan through his mother ,and therefore had the reason to be proud of his ancestors . From the age of 11, when he became an orphan. Babur was engaged in fighting unsuccessfully for his ancestral territories in present day Uzbekistan from where he had been driven out by the Turkish Uzbegs.
At the Age of 21, he conquered Kabul and began to look towards India to which he felt he could lay a rightful claim as the heir of Taimur.
