WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
Established in 2017, Project SOAR is a project of the Southern California College Attainment Network (SoCal CAN) in partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA). Project SOAR helps advance the educational outcomes for residents living in public housing by providing targeted guidance using Education Navigators and strategic partnerships with college access and success organizations, community based organizations, and resources.
Our program prioritizes interventions that have proven to move the needle for underserved communities in the arenas of college access, success, and affordability. These include: FAFSA/CADAA completion, academic plans tailored to the individual, drop-in advising, 1-on-1 college guidance, peer influence, parent and community engagement and through-college support.
