SOAR Ambassador Program was established in 2021 to deepen the presence of Project SOAR across HACLA's public housing communities. In 2024, SOAR placed 17 parent and student ambassadors across 8 HACLA housing communities for a 4-week, paid ambassadorship.
What SOAR Ambassadors Do:
Contribute to Project SOAR’s recruitment efforts by promoting the program through canvassing with staff, engaging with residents, and participating in community events at their housing community.
Create student-centered content and resources to strengthen the program’s connection with our communities through social media outlets.
Support in planning and hosting Project SOAR events.
Collaborate with Project SOAR Education Navigators to identify community needs and future programming opportunities.
