In this component of the course students will complete a written exam in the Summer term of Year 11.

The exam comprises of two sections:

Section A - questions based on the text Hard to Swallow by Mark Wheeler, in which students have to think as an actor, director and designer. The text will be studied as a class.

Section B - a question based on Live Theatre - students will watch a theatre performance or stream a theatre performance during the course and will write about what they have seen: acting, sound, lighting, set and costume.

This is 40% of the GCSE qualification.
