Co-Curricular Drama

An Opportunity To Grow!

We offer many clubs here at Smithdon to provide additional opportunities for our students.  Our clubs can change yearly -based on student interest!

Some of our performances throughout the year have included the school musical: last year we performed Legally Blonde and it was a fantastic success.

We regularly participate in the Hunstanton Drama Festival and quite often have two entries. In the 2019 Festival we won awards for:

as well as the school being recognised with the prestigious 'Shakespeare Cup' for all our fantastic entries and continued hard work: only made possible by staff and students.

In the past we have received nominations annually for the 'best youth group' and have been awarded 'best youth female actress' {an accolade which we were also nominated for in 2019.)

Additionally, our Key Stage 3 Drama Club performs at various evenings as well as in-school assemblies, which are always well-attended and enjoyed by staff and students alike.

In 2019, we were able to offer an educational Arts Trip to New York for students who studied Art, Drama or Music at GCSE level. This was an amazing trip - and was life-changing for some. We were lucky enough to visit museums, watch a Broadway Show and visit many landmarks in an experience that will never be forgotten by staff or students. We hope to be able to offer more residential trips such as this as part of our co-curricular offer at Smithdon in the future.
