Smithdon Drama Department

Drama is an exciting, engaging and dynamic subject. Throughout a student’s time at Smithdon, they will focus on the making, performing and evaluation process of Drama that is supplied by the department or created by the students themselves. 

The curriculum is designed to challenge pupils throughout their time in the subject. While the focus of most lessons will be on the creation and performance of Drama – even learning the basic skills of the Actor – there is also a wide use of written work, observation and discussion topics. Units of work in Drama can be as diverse as the plays of Shakespeare, contemporary themes and Theatre History. All students at all levels have the opportunity to perform in a friendly, creative and supportive environment.
