This is an auditioned performance ensemble similar to Marching Band except that it takes place completely indoors. Members of this ensemble take part in a show that is produced on a special flooring material and travel to competitions in northern MD and PA. Techniques used are similar to marching band and this ensemble is used to continue training for colorguard members in between Marching Band seasons.

Currently, the Indoor Colorguard and Percussion are ran as a County Program. Indoor Guard rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Indoor Percussion rehearsals are on Wednesdays and Fridays. Both groups rehearse/compete on Saturdays.

GMHS students, even if you have never been or don't plan to take a band class.
Any 8th grade SMCPS Middle school student who will attend Great Mills HS in 9th grade. (7th Grade is at the discretion of the County Band Directors' decisions) that has performed in a Marching Band in the County.
Anyone who wants to join the Colorguard and learn how to dance, spin flag & rifles/sabers and perform for a crowd with the marching band. No previous experience necessary.
Wind/Percussion members who would like to try something new.
