What are the Band Boosters?
If you have a student in the Great Mills Band, then you are a member of the GMHS Band Boosters!
Our Band Boosters are the single biggest reason why GMHS bands are among the best in our region. The hard work, creativity, and dedication of our band parents/caregivers and other family members and community members are crucial to making our program a success!
The GMHS Band Boosters meets once a month at a designated time, placed on the GMHS Band Calendar, provided by the Boosters. Please join us to find out how you can be part of each season! How can I help?
No matter what your skill set or time constraints are, we can use your help! Our Band Boosters are continually working behind the scenes.
Do you enjoy hosting large gatherings? We will need you to help us coordinate pot lucks to feed band members before football games, during band camp, and whenever weary teenagers may need a cool treat or a warm cup of hot chocolate to get through a long practice.
Do you enjoying working with teenagers? You’ll make a great chaperone for our football games and competitions. We’ll also need your help making sure the students’ uniforms fit correctly, and that they are properly outfitted.
Are you good at sales and marketing? We will put your skills to work to make our fundraisers a success and rally the community behind our band.
Are you are the one in charge of packing the family vehicle for a road trip? Then we need your help loading and unloading equipment, instruments, and props for competitions and parades.
Do you have a large truck? Or know someone who does? Our Boosters tow the trailers – we literally take the entire show on the road!
Are you creative? We will need your help building props, painting stages, designing programs, and creating special effects that wow the audience.
Are you a numbers guy or gal? The Boosters can use your know-how to help us run the administrative aspects of our program and coordinate travel logistics.
