This is an elective credit taken outside of the normal school day for one academic fine arts credit. Comprised of musicians and colorguard, members rehearse in the evenings after school and on Saturdays. The marching band performs at all home varsity football games, five to eight local, regional, and national competitions, and local parades each fall. Mandatory rehearsals begin in May and continue until early November.
GMHS students, even if you have never been or don't plan to take a band class.
Any 7th or 8th grade SMCPS Middle school student who will attend Great Mills HS in 9th grade.
This is for students who already play an instrument or would like to learn a new instrument.
Anyone who wants to join the Color guard and learn how to dance, spin flag & rifles/sabers and perform for a crowd with the marching band. No previous experience necessary.
