Pupils kick started the morning learning all about the Space Race between the USA and the USSR. They listened to music, watched videos of famous astronauts speaking and Apollo 11 taking off, and also plotted the main events of the race on a timeline.
After plotting the events together on a timeline, pupils then started to create their 'Space shirts', which were OUT OF THIS WORLD!
To make Space Day even more fun filled, during the afternoon we all were given the chance to try some REAL astronaut food and it went down a treat!
Last but not least, as it was also Science Week, we conducted our WOW experiment. In small groups, pupils made rockets that were ready to explode. It was lot's of messy fun!
The equipment list and instructions are below if you would like to have a go at home.
