1960s Fashion - Mary Quant
Year 5 learnt all about the 1960s fashion designer Mary Quant and how she inspired the fashion industry to become more liberal. They looked at bold, block prints and using their skills of printing from Spring term they created their own 1960s coloured prints.
They then transformed these prints into funky items of clothing from the 1960s: gogo boots, mini skirts, mini dresses, hot pants and flared trousers.
As part of our research around the 1960s we also learnt a song from the decade to perform at the Jubilee Concert.
The song 5AM chose was 'I'm a believer' by the Monkees.
