I have been missing you all!

I hope during our time apart that you have been putting what we have learned in class in action--literally!

Each week I will post some health info and activities for you to try. Challenge your family to try them with you and have fun! Remember all of the benefits of exercise and eating healthy!!

There's a tab under PE with some extra workouts and activities...feel free to try any or all of them!!

It's been 9 weeks already!!

Our last week of school and what a year it has been!! I sure have been missing school and all of you! As we end this school year and head to summer break always...

...remember to exercise at least 60 minutes a day at a moderate to vigorous intensity!

...remember to eat your fruits, veggies, & whole grains along with drinking plenty of water!

...remember to be kind and helpful.

...remember to have fun and be safe.

...remember to always do your best & never give up! Don't be afraid to try new things, & practice to become better!

...remember you have so many people that love and care for you!

...remember to get healthy, get active, and GO BE AWESOME!!

Woah week 7!!

You all had so many great things on your gratitude lists!! I hope that you told those folks you mentioned that you are grateful for them!! This week let's focus on going out of your way to do something nice for someone!!

Always check in with your adult in charge before you try each activity, clear a space to move, then CLEAN UP after you are done!!

This week I am giving you many choices! Personal fitness is all about finding things you enjoy doing that help you stay healthy and strong! There are many different parts, or components, of fitness. Check out the posters --> Through different activities you can work on the various kinds of fitness and many different muscles of your body! Check out your options, make your choices, do your best and enjoy!!

Looking ahead so you can start planning and practicing...next week Mrs. K and I are teaming up for a virtual school-wide talent show! Think about a cool talent that you have that you can share via FlipGrid. Videos will have a 3 minute length to show your stuff! More details will be shared next week!

Week 6: May 4 - May 10

Foot Skill Games

Hey May...week 6!!

This week the Specials are focusing on gratitude! Believe it or not gratitude has many health benefits!! Please think of at least one person that you are grateful for this week--someone who is there for you and helps you when you need it--and tell them!!

In PE, we are moving from hand skills to foot skills! I had some great challengers last week--GOOD GAME to you all!! Please make sure you watch the video and use good form! Winning is fun, but my main goal is for you to learn skills and get better at doing them CORRECTLY!! Our warm up is to Imagine Dragons "Thunder"--do your best and enjoy!!

Always check in with your adult in charge before you try each activity, clear a space to move, then CLEAN UP after you are done!!

Our challenge trackers are done! I have heard from a lot of you that were making some nice gains in your personal challenges. Feel free to keep working on those or other skills that you enjoy. It's always good to set goals for yourself and work towards them!

Wow week 5!!

I love hearing about how your challenges and goals are going! Be proud when you make small gains, they will add up to big gains!! For those of you completing those this is the last week, so try them again and see how you do then set some future goals and keep working hard!

Hey there SSMSES!

I hope that you had a great Easter weekend and didn't eat too much candy :)

Now that you've setup your challenges we are going to see if you have improved and set some goals!

This week:

  1. Please check out the video.

  2. Complete your challenges from last week again and record your results in the column for week 2. Feel free to try new ones and challenge your family, too!

  3. Set small improvement goals for the next weeks (increase reps/distance/time doing or decrease time it takes to complete).

  4. Go to FlipGrid Week 3 to check in with how you're doing (same password...videos will only be seen by me this week)!


**Feel free to look at last week's Challenges FlipGrid to see the challenges that other students created or even to add new ones that you created!!

Welcome back! It was so great to "see" so many of you last week!!

This week we are going to try some fitness challenges and get an idea of how we're doing so we can compare ourselves to ourselves in the weeks to come!

For this week:

  1. Please watch my video to you.

  2. Check out the Challenges (<--click) page to find the tracker sheet and some videos showing various challenges. Note: this is week 1 for challenges!

  3. Choose your personal challenges (invite your family to do it with you!) and the time you would like to use (30/45/60 seconds) for each one.

  4. Complete your challenges and record your results either on the tracker sheet or on your own!

  5. Check out this week's FlipGrid Week 2 (same password as last week!).

  6. Have fun, get fit, HAPPY EASTER, and GO BE AWESOME at all you do!!


Note: This week might take a little more time to get setup, but we will use these for the next few weeks so it will even out! ENJOY your challenges together!!
