The focus in kindergarten is introducing and familiarizing students with technology in a playful and exploratory manner.
Creativity and Innovation:
Students can use digital tools to explore and play.
Use digital tools to create a simple drawing
Use apps (Freeform, Keynote) to draw, type, highlight (letters, shapes, beginning words)
Use storytelling applications to engage in digital stories (chatterpix, and voice record over slides)
Use interactive games on the iPad (Lexia, Dreambox, BoomCards, etc)
Communication and Collaboration:
Students can engage in basic digital activities with peers.
Introduce interactive games
Share digital creations with peers under supervision
Use camera/video/green screen to share creations
Research and Information Fluency:
Students are introduced to digital information and resources.
Identify and sort basic digital content (pictures, letters, numbers) in an educational game or interactive activity
Develop familiarity with basic digital content and navigation
Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making:
Students are introduced to basic problem-solving activities in a digital environment.
Solve simple puzzles or matching games on a tablet or computer
Practice basic problem-solving using digital tools and programs (Dreambox)
Introduce simple coding through robotics
Digital Citizenship:
Students are introduced to simple guidelines for using digital tools and devices.
Engage in a discussion about digital device etiquette
Taking turns while using a tablet or computer

Technology Operations and Concepts:
Students develop basic proficiency in using iPads.
