Financial Aid for College
California Dream act aPPLICATION (CADAA)
The CADAA is a financial aid application that allows eligible students to apply for certain types of financial aid including: private scholarships funded through public universities, state administered financial aid, university grants, community college fee waivers, and Cal Grants. Students can apply for financial aid during their senior year of high school (12th grade).
You are eligible to complete the CADAA If:
you are Undocumented
you have valid or expired DACA status
you have a U Visa
you have Temporary Protected Status (TPS), or
You meet the non-resident criteria listed here
AB 540 Affidavit
After submitting the CADAA, you will need to submit a signed "Non-Resident Tuition Exemption" Request (AB 540 Affidavit) to your school. This form is necessary for you to qualify for aid through CADAA!
The form declares that you meet all the requirements to qualify for a non-resident exemption under Assembly Bill (AB) 540. Contact your school to receive the AB 540 Affidavit.
