Imagine UC was a person. If you met face-to-face, what would you want them to know about you? These personal insight questions (PIQs) allow you to tell the UC. You could write about your creative side. Your thoughts on leadership. A challenge you’ve faced. Whatever questions you answer, make sure you show them your personality—just as you would in real life.
You will have 8 questions to choose from. You must respond to only 4 of the 8 questions.
Each response is limited to a maximum of 350 words.
Which questions you choose to answer is entirely up to you. However, you should select questions that are most relevant to your experience and that best reflect your individual circumstances.
If you need support with any part of the UC Application, please visit the College and Career Center (Room 400) to speak with Ms. Sierra.
UC's Native American Opportunity Plan ensures that in-state systemwide Tuition and Student Services Fees are fully covered for California students who are also enrolled in federally recognized Native American, American Indian, and Alaska Native tribes.
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) provides assistance through mentorship, academic programs, financial assistance, counseling/advising, and other campus support services to those who are first-generation college students, and/or from low-income and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds.
To be considered for EOP, you should indicate your interest when you complete the UC application. Be sure to fill out your parents’ level of education, family size and household income later in the application.
