The Department of Pediatrics offers a number of Acting Internship and Direct Patient Care Rotation to visiting students. All visiting rotations are scheduled through the AAMC VSLO program. Students who request any clinical rotations at SLU are first "cleared" centrally by the med school and if eligible forwarded to the individual departments. Historically we've been able to schedule every student who requested a Pediatric visiting rotation--though depending on our M4 and resident schedule not always for their first choice month/rotation. "Spot" availability varies each block based on the schedule of residents, SLU M4 students, and occasionally attendings. We are more than happy to chat with interested M4s about site availability during their preferred rotation block prior to VSLO submission. Please reach out! The PICU as well as CG and St. Mary's NICU are options for visiting acting internships. The general inpatient service is not offered as an option as it is a required site for clerkship students.
