2021 Performing Arts elections

The 2021 SLOHS Performing Arts elections were held on May 11, 2021. It was the 1st annual presidential, vice presidential, treasurial, and secretarial elections after the merge of Drama Club, Improv Team, and Iambic Pentameter. Incumbent Drama Club presidents Maggie Zuniga and Evan Clausen were ineligible for reelection.

Nomination for office began May 11, 2021 at 3:30 PM PST, at which point members of Drama, Improv, and/or Iambic Pentameter could declare candidacy for any position. On the same day, candidates Lindsay Smith, Charley Beck, and Ava Walsh were respectively elected president, secretary, and treasurer; all three bypassed voting systems as they received exclusive nominations to office. The office of vice president was put to vote between candidates Elias Stepro and Flannery Clausen; polls were open until midnight on May 12, and Clausen was announced the victor on May 13. Clausen's appointment marked the first time a relative of a former officer had been elected, closely followed by commissioner Maggie McKay in September 2021. The 2021 election also marked the first officer team with more than two members since the Jones administration (1971--1972).

The Company branch of Performing Arts government was decided in fall 2021 by appointment following an application and interview process.

In SLOHS Performing Arts, general elections follow nominations held by the club to determine their candidates. The winners of the 2021 elections were inaugurated on August 19, 2021.
