This article refers to the vice presidency of SLOHS Performing Arts. For the dissolved vice presidency of Drama Club, see Vice President of the Drama Club.

The Vice President of SLOHS Performing Arts is the second-highest officer in the executive team of San Luis Obispo High School Performing Arts, after the president of SLOHS Performing Arts, and ranks first in the presidential line of succession. The vice president is also a commissioner in the Performing Arts Company, as the Commissioner of Drama. The vice president is directly elected, separate from the president, to a one-year term of office by the members of SLOHS Performing Arts.

The modern vice presidency (after the merge of the three former theatrical clubs in 2021) is a position of significant power and is widely seen as an integral part of a president's administration. While the exact nature of the role is expected to vary in each administration, most modern vice presidents will serve as a key presidential advisor, governing partner, and representative of the president. As the vice president's role within the executive team has greatly expanded from its origins in the SLOHS Drama Club, the role of the presidency has largely contracted.

The office was formally established on April 27, 2021 with the merging of Drama Club, Improv Team, and Iambic Pentameter. Elections for the first office holder took place in May 2021. As the Commissioner of Drama, the restructured vice presidency is technically the successor of the Drama Club presidency; most of this authority, however, will be divided between the vice president and president.

Vice presidents are elected annually in late spring for the following school year. While Drama Club presidents were appointed by their predecessor(s), the Performing Arts executive offices operate under a democratic system of majority vote. Vice presidential candidates do not run on joint tickets.

There are three key qualifications for holding the vice presidency: attendance at San Luis Obispo High School; at least a ninth grader at the time of their appointment; and prior membership in the club for at least one year. Because appointments are made in the spring for the following school year, incoming freshmen are ineligible for office; thus, no vice president may serve more than three one-year terms, except in the case that a vice president is subject to grade retention.

Mark Rourke is the second and current vice president of SLOHS Performing Arts, assuming office on August 18, 2022. Rourke is the second male to hold the office, following Baxter Boyington in 1965.
