Students need to know how to solve subtraction equations (written both as 10-3=? and 10 - ?= 3), write related subtraction and addition facts (10-3 = 7: related subtraction fact is 10-7=3, related addition fact is 3+7=10), create fact families (3+7=10, 7+3=10, 10-7=3, 10-3=7), and solve word problems.
