Course Outline:

Unit 1: Sketch & Draw

• 1 & 2 Point Perspectives

• Industrial Design Drawing Tutorials

• Orthographic Projection

• Measurements & Dimensions

Weekly Sketches: Everyday Objects

• Use an actual object, something you can pick up, move around & look at all sides

• Use the sketch as a way to convey information about the object, such as materials, textures & interactions of different components

• Practise create shadings, textures and tones using a pencil

• Focus on the surfaces, edges, alignments, transitions, not details such as lettering or painted patterns

Assignment #1:

Option A: Cube Ninja (slice & dice)

Option B: Interior Design (space and relations)

Presentation #1: Innovative vs Poor Designs

Unit 2: Modular Elements and Tessellation

Unit 3: Sketchup

Unit 4: ReThink Food and Trash
