I got hyped by the Optimum Tech video around a lightweight fingertip mouse. I didn't want to buy a Razer Viper V2 Pro ($189 AUD here), so i got a cheaper mouse for around $70 AUD. At time of writing you can get it for around $50 aud with 2khz polling from AliExpress. It supported 2khz polling and other goodies.
I ended up doing two mods - a 3d printed fingertip mod, then after a few months I scrapped it and did a simple Left-click switch swap.
The PCB weighed 20g with scrollwheel, and the 3d printed shell was around 11g. Teflon feet were negligible (< 0.5g)
I ended up straining my tendons since the mouse was too thin, and I couldn't be bothered fixing the design due to lack of time). I used the 3d printed shell for around 5 months.
I returned the PCB to it's original case (53g total). It was nice having side buttons again.
I endeavoured to make the "clicky" switch more tactile. It ended up not being necessary, as my son didn't care.
