Annual Willamette Valley Engineers Week Banquet
Each year the Willamette Valley Section of the Society of Women Engineers sponsors an Annual Willamette Valley Engineers Week Banquet. For over 50 years, Engineers Week has helped to promote awareness of the engineering profession and to encourage young people to consider careers in engineering. As part of the banquet activities, we host a guest speaker and honor local student recipients of SWE awards. In support of these objectives, we invite you, your colleagues, and your guests to attend. We hope that you can join us to celebrate the many contributions made by engineers to our community! We ask that you also consider sponsoring student attendees and/or a table of professionals and students.
Mark your calendars. The Willamette Valley Section of the Society of Women Engineers will host its 26th celebration in recognition of Engineers Week in the Willamette Valley. Details for this networking reception for engineering professionals are below.

Please join us for the 26th annual celebration of Engineers Week in the Willamette Valley. This networking reception for engineering professionals and students is hosted by the Willamette Valley Section of the Society of Women Engineers and will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 4:30 – 7:00 pm on the Oregon State University campus in the LaSells Stewart Center Gallery. All engineering professionals and students are welcome to attend. The reception will feature a short program, including keynote remarks by Genentech Validation Engineer, Carolina Guillen.
Carolina Guillen graduated from Oregon State University in June of 2020 with a degree in Bioengineering. While at OSU she was involved in many student organizations such as the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). She also served as a Faculty Student Mentor, STEM Leaders Mentor, Undergraduate Researcher in Dr. Skip Rochefort’s lab, and Undergraduate Research Ambassador.
Currently, Carolina works at Genentech as a Validation Engineer. Prior to joining Genentech, she had the opportunity to be a Rehabilitation Engineering Intern at Cleveland State University through a Research Experience for Undergraduates program. Additionally, in the summer of her senior year, she interned as a Validation Engineer at Genentech’s Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) facility.
Outside of work, Carolina enjoys teaching her dog, Bonno, new tricks, spending time with family and friends, learning new languages, volunteering in non-profit organizations, playing sports, mentoring, trying new restaurants, networking, and buying purple shoes.
