Proverbs 22:1
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, And loving favor rather than silver and gold.
The Winslow Geneology is fascinating to dig into. However, our other family names have just as much mystery and adventure, too.
On 18 December 1993, the Winslows again added another family line to the mix.
Genesis 2:24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
On December 18th, 1993, the Winslow and Plemmons family lines joined together to create a new family. Our children are proud of where their families have come from. America is the 'Great Melting Pot', and our family is a result of America's rich diversity of families from around the world.
Bottom Line- our family, like most other Americans, are like their family dog. A mutt. We are a hodge-podge of families mixed together to create a wonderful mix of sur-names, experiences and traditions.
Our family dog is Roscoe. The shelter found him on the streets of St. Louis and we adopted him. Like our names, we have no choice as to what our parents call us. The workers at the shelter called him Roscoe, but if we had our choice, we would have called him Dobby. He was Harry Potter's faithful companion, and ultimately died for Harry and friends.
As Dobby says: "Dobby has no master. Dobby is a free elf, and Dobby has come to save Harry Potter and his friends! "
Roscoe is the same way, he has no master and does his own thing. Yet, he is always there to help, comfort and protect.
