Our Executive

President of the Windsor Chapter of the OAS is Amanda Black. Amanda is a graduate of Laurentian University with a dual degree in History and Anthropology specializing in Canadian History and Ontario Archaeology. She is currently works with archaeological consulting firms as a seasonal field director. Amanda has worked on several projects such as the DRIC/WEPP and the expansion of 407; she also has done two field schools - one as a student and the other as a teacher's assistant. Amanda plans on going back to school soon to do her masters in a combined Native Studies and Archaeology program.


Vice President Rosemarie Denunzio is a professor at the University of Windsor. She has been an active member of the Windsor OAS for many years now and plays a vital role in the chapter. Her knowledge and contacts have proved to be an invaluable resource for the chapter. In 2012, Rosemarie was the recipient of the Killarney Award, a reward for longstanding involvement in the OAS.


Secretary Barbara Johnson has also been with the chapter for many years. She has a Bachelor of Science joint degree in Anthropology and Geography from Trent University and holds an Applied Research Licence in the Province of Ontario. She has participated in archaeological research and excavation of many sites throughout Ontario, especially in the Essex County Region, including the 401 DRIC/WEPP.

Treasurer Michael McMaster went to the University of Windsor for his Undergrad program. He has been a member of the Windsor Chapter for a number of years. He works for Archaeological Consulting firms in Ontario and has various experiences in the field.


Newsletter editor: Zack Hamm holds an Applied Research License to practice archaeology and has been working in Ontario archaeology since 2012. He graduated from the University of Windsor Honours program in Classical Studies and went on to complete a Master of Arts in Canadian History. Zack has worked as an archaeologist and heritage research specialist on many projects throughout Ontario, having joined the Windsor OAS executive in 2016.


Media Relations: Haylee Meloche graduated from University of Windsor with a degree in Forensic Science and Criminology. She completed the UNB Bioarchaeological Field School in Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. For the last few years, she has worked for archaeological consulting firms in Ontario.
