From 2008, the poet describes an idealized romantic/erotic encounter.
-----
How late it is I cannot say,
the day has gone away
and we have slept here for hours
in each other's arms
in each other's hearts.
As linen frames your sleeping form,
warm and sensuous, bare to the night air and my eyes.
Your slow breathing tells me you slumber
and though I am filled with a great passion
as I feel your tender skin against mine
I take the moment of serenity
to marvel at you, so beautiful
and so perfect to the curve of my soul
that I am lost for the instant.
until you open your eyes and smile
that gentle feral smile
and kiss me without doubt or fear
and whisper to me
"Take what is yours".
And, so I do.
