Pack 270's Pinewood Derby will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church
It's the perfect weather to stay indoors and start building those winning cars!
Attached at the bottom of this posting are the 2019 Pinewood Derby Flyer, a copy of the Pack 270 Pinewood Derby Rules and Regulations for Tiger and Cub Scouts, a copy of the Westmoreland County Pinewood Derby rules, and information on optional Pinewood Derby Builds, Fun Day and Test/Tune opportunities in the local area.

Build Days, and Other Local Opportunities:
Need some assistance building the car? Pack 480 of Greensburg and Pack 207 of Murrysville are having a Pinewood Derby Build Events. A parent or guardian must accompany each scout. Pack leaders will be available to assist in the design and cutting of the car.
Pack 480 Build Event:
When: Saturday, January 5th, 2019 from 11AM-1PM

Troup 284 Pinewood Derby Test and Tune: Test the cars before the race
When: Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 from 6:30PM-8PM
Where: First Presbyterian Church, 617 Main Street, Irwin, PA

Preliminary Weigh-in and Test Runs (Optional): Saturday, January 12, 2019
The Preliminary Weigh-in and Test Run is optional. You do not need to wear a Class A uniform for the preliminary testing. This is an opportunity to weigh your car, make sure the dimensions are appropriate for the track, and test and tune on the pack's track.

Pack 270 award winners may attend the District Pinewood Derby at the Westmoreland Mall
When: Saturday, February 2nd, 2019.
Cost: $5 Registration fee per car.
Registration Deadline: 5PM on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.

Friends & Family Race:
Open To All Parents, Siblings, and Friends
All Friends and Family will register during Cub Scout Registration, and racing will begin
Immediately following Cub Scout awards presentation.
If you are interested in entering the friends and family race, please send me an email with the name of the friends and family racer. The email can be sent to: turgeon@setonhill.edu
For Friends and Family: You may use your scouts previous year’s car, or build your own
Please see the official pack 270 rules and regulations for the PWD attached below. Pack 270 adheres strictly to the Westmoreland Fayette Council PWD rules also attached below. If your scout's car passes our inspection, it should pass the inspection at the District Championship if your scout is eligible to attend that event.
Scouts must be present, and in full Class A uniform to race their car, so if your scout's uniform is missing anything, now is the time to get it.
