We will be camping at Camp Seph Mack. (If you camped with us for the haunted camp it is the same camp.) Seph Mack is located in Penn Runn, Pa. It is right outside Indiana, PA.
The address is 1966 S Harmony Rd, Penn Runn Pa. 15765. It is part of Yellow Creek State Park.
This year our stay will be a little more rustic then last year. We have the use of the staff area of camp. This contains 3 cabins. Each cabin has two rooms. Three sets of bunk beds in the front room and two sets of bunks in the back room. Ideally it is set up up for 6 kids up front 4 adults in the back room. Then we also have the rest of the site to set up tents. There is a flush bathroom across the field from the site. It has one toilet and one urinal in it. There is also the shower house, that has showers and more flush toilets in it. This one is a little bit more of a walk, but it's not that bad. There are numerous out houses around camp also. The cabin will be first to sign up, and request to be in a cabin. Once the cabins fill up then it will be tenting only.
Dates are Friday May 5th through Sunday May 7th. The Cost is $10.00 per Adult. $15.00 per child. $10.00 pays for the food for the weekend, and the extra $5.00 for the kids are for the supplies for their activities.
Plan for the weekend:
Friday will be check in and set up. Check in will start at 6:30. You can arrive any time after 6:30. Friday night we will have a nacho bar for Cracker Barrel (A.K.A night time snack)
Saturday: Wake up breakfast (cereal and oat meal). Activities planned: Hike/scavenger hunt, marbles, slingshots, Turtle races, fishing, and Snot Rockets (A.K.A stomp rockets. If you were at the camp out last year you know the story of the snot rocket. If you did not I can tell you the story. It's funny.) Lunch will be Hotdogs cooked over the fire, Chips, and raw veggies. Dinner is Hamburgers, Potato salad, pasta salad, and chips and veggies left over from lunch. Cracker Barrel will be Mountain pies. (Either fruit pies or pizza. It all depends on the budget) Their might be a possible movie night.
Sunday: wake up, breakfast, pack, clean up the site, and head home.
The kids will get to take home their marbles they use for the games, turtles, and the stomp rockets they made.
If you are interested in coming please let me know. Money is due no later than Friday April 21st.
I need a finial count to figure out cabin sleeping arrangements, and to get the supplies for the kids. Please let me know as soon as possible. I need to get the turtles cut out and to you, so the kids can decorate them at home and bring them to camp for the race. I have the wood so all the turtles are the same. To see what I am talking about search up cub scout turtle races online. There are some good videos on you tube of cub scouts turtle race too.
Below are pictures of /about the turtle race.
