What is WATCH D.O.G.S.?
WATCH D.O.G.S. is one of the nation's largest and most respected school-based, family, and community engagement organizations. Since the program’s creation in 1998, more than 6,450 schools across the country have launched a WATCH D.O.G.S. program of their own. Each school year, hundreds of thousands of fathers and father figures make a positive impact on students by volunteering millions of hours in their local schools through this one-of-a-kind program.
Who are WATCH D.O.G.S.?
Fathers, mothers, step-parents, grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles, aunties, and other parental figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.
Our school needs assistance each day with keeping the drop-off and pickup of students safe and well supervised. Adult family members who are available for just an hour at the beginning or end of the school day could provide a much-needed presence on the school grounds, directing traffic, ensuring pedestrian safety and keeping the lanes clear for the buses to get to the school on time.
