Reflections

Reflections is a National PTA arts program that gives students the opportunity to express themselves in several areas of the arts: Visual Arts (drawing, painting, sculpture, metal etching, etc.), Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, and Video Production.

The 2021-2022 Reflections theme is "is I Will Change the World By… "and program submissions, judging, and recognition will take place[in-person, online, or a hybrid]. Entries will be accepted in [specific or all] categories through [DAY], [MONTH] [DD]. School results will be announced on [MONTH] [DD} and recognized entries will go on to council-level (Jeffco PTA) judging, whose results will be announced by December [DD].

You must complete the form and follow the instructions in the student submission packet. All final work should be emailed to the Reflections Chair, [NAME] ([EMAIL ADDRESS]). Please check the rules and formatting instructions for your individual category.

Students are asked to create new a piece of artwork inspired by this year’s theme. One entry may be submitted per student, per category. Every submission needs to be the original work of only one student, and must follow PTA Reflections rules. The entries will be judged on interpretation of the theme, originality, and creativity. Up to three pieces in each category will be selected by the judges to be a part of the Jefferson County PTA display; pieces selected there may go on to state or national judging.

Please refer to the following documents as students prepare their submissions:

  • Information Flyer

  • Information for Students

  • 2021-2022 - Rules and Entry Form (a completed form must be turned in with each entry)

  • How to prepare your piece for online turn in

All pieces must be submitted by [DAY], [MONTH] [DD], 2021. Any additional questions may be directed to [NAME] at [EMAIL ADDRESS].

A Note for Families: This program is age-based, and should be age-appropriate. A student’s best work may include crooked lines or misspelled words. You may give them feedback—for example, showing them how to brainstorm ideas or suggesting that they proofread their pieces, but please be sure that their final effort is truly their own work of art.
