Community Input

The primary method used to gather public comment on the well field area was to invite residents of the Town and Village of Webster to public meetings to gather comments from Facebook postings and Web Site reactions, and to ask for opinions via a survey. To date, over 200 surveys have been received. There is overwhelming support indicated on the surveys for keeping the well field area in its current, natural state. The results showed a desire to keep the area as passive green space with the most respondents favoring hiking trails, a park or nature center. The drop-off in choices was then pronounced, with the second most desiring it to remain for water production and then for picnic areas. These results were discussed by the WFCC and formed the nucleus for this Vision Statement. The choice of hiking trails is in accord with the Town of Webster Local Waterfront Revitalization Program.
