We downloaded data about Airbnb from Inside Airbnb, and have been organizing and analyzing it. We have found, so far, that occupancy rate doesn't depend on where on the island an Airbnb is. While we originally assumed that the resident through Casa Peota would rent out their house for 80% of the year, it has been calculated that the average occupancy rate is about 45% of the year, so 80% is unrealistic. We are looking into getting data from different seasons from Murray Cox in order to evaluate the average occupancy rate throughout the year. Hopefully, the summer months in Venice will yield a higher occupancy rate, allowing Casa Peota to work.
