After our first week in Venice we are really starting to be able to find our way around the city. This past weekend our group adventured out and took in some of the more touristy sites that Venice has to offer. On Saturday we took a look around St. Mark's Basilica, Doge's Palace, and the bell tower in the plaza. The Basilica in particular to me was especially beautiful. The city is incredible and there is so much to see.
As far as the project we have been able to do some planning and create some goals as well as infographics that depict how much progress we intend to make each week. The GIS portion of the project has been put on hold a little due to technical difficulties and trying to standardize our system of creating the maps. We had the chance to meet with our project advisors and a meeting later in the week with people from Atlas in order to get our procedure down. This way the consistency of the deliverables from the project is guaranteed.
The fountains as well as the historical explorer application portion has been moving steadily along. The fountains parameters are being finalized and the historical explorer is constantly being fine tuned. Over the next week our process should streamlined for each portion of the project and we can start producing real results. Stay tuned for updates!
