Hello students and families! The end of quarter two is upon us...but not too soon! Contrary to popular belief, quarter 2 ends after winter break on Friday, January 20th. Finals in all my classes are due after Winter Break. What should students do in the meantime? All students should work on memorizing and rehearsing their poem for Poetry Outloud (poetryoutloud.org). The classroom competition will be held the week after break and the school-wide competition is on Jan. 18th (tentatively). 10th graders should work on their persuasive speech and 9th graders should work on their monologue/dialogue final. Extra credit opportunities: 10th grade can read and develop a project on M.T. Anderson's book, Feed. 9th graders can memorize a monologue from Romeo and Juliet and perform it for their class after break.
