These specific vials and caps are required for all walk-up instruments and

are also the preferred items for sample submission.

These vials and caps can also be purchased as a set in the STEM Stockroom in NHB 1.502.

Fisherbrand™ Robotic Screw Top Autosampler Vials

Note: Avoid using plastic vials and pipette tips since plasticizers can leach into your sample and interfere with the ionization and analysis of your targets. Plastic pipette tips can be soaked in MeOH for 5 minutes prior to use to prevent this problem.

Fisherbrand™ Robotic Screw Top Autosampler Vial Closures (Caps)

Note: Do not allow solvent to contact a punctured cap or it will be contaminated with siloxanes. Please do not submit samples with punctured caps.

Restek™ Glass Vial Inserts

Use these inserts when you only have a small volume of sample.

Note: Make sure that the insert is vertical (not tilted) in the vial once the cap is on and remove any air bubbles at the very bottom of the insert by tapping the vial. Do not allow solvent to contact the plastic bottom spring or it will be contaminated with siloxanes.

Fisherbrand™ 9 mm Glass Fused Insert Screw Thread Vials 

If you are always going to use vial inserts for small volumes, then this is the cheaper option.

Note: Make sure to remove any air bubbles at the very bottom of the insert by tapping the vial. 

Fisherbrand™ Syringe Filters: PTFE Membrane

Use these (or any other) filters to remove any visible precipitate from your samples.
