Mass Spectrometry Facility
Important Announcements
The Instrument we used to use for high Resolution EI and CI (Waters Autospec) has been turned off. We will be getting a replacement instrument but it will be several months until it is operational.
*******************Until then WE CAN NOT OFFER HIGH RES CI OR EI ****************************
We are running external samples, but please note it is required to obtain a Sample Shipping Number before sending samples. Full details can be found on our External Samples page.
We are not able to do service work on any instrumentation not owned and operated by our facility. Your understanding on this is appreciated.
Please note our shipping address!
Sign up for our Mass Spectrometry Facility E-Mail List to get updates!
Please see the current instrument status and location page for more information on each instrument.
Our Mass Spectrometry Facility runs over 20,000 samples every year!!
Our facility offers support for the analysis of a wide variety of analytes using mass spectrometry based techniques. We have instrumentation and expertise in multiple ionization techniques including ESI, APCI, APPI, EI, and CI allowing for investigation of a wide range of molecular structures. With our four staff operated instruments, we provide services for molecular formula confirmation (accurate mass measurement), structural elucidation (MS/MS) and quantitation of small molecules. We also offer four user-run Walk-Up instruments that are available 24/7 for trained users.
We are currently serving researchers from 10 departments at UT Austin, as well as users from 5 other UT campuses and 17 external universities / national labs! We would love to hear from you to discuss how we can help fulfill your sample analysis needs.
