Log-in with your VIP ID and password (that you made in Step 1).
Answer security questions.
Add your phone number. It is okay to add an international number if you have a smart phone (iPhone, Google, Android etc.)
If it’s an international number, make sure to add the country code. For example, a Chinese number would start with +86, an Indian number would start with +246.
Next to your number, you will see an “Activate” button. Click on this button and you will see a QR code.
Take out your smartphone and download the “Duo Mobile” application on your phone. It is a green App with the word 'DUO' written on it.
Go into the Duo Mobile application and click the + on the top right corner.
Point your phone at the QR code on your computer screen.
The USC account will be connected with your Duo Mobile App.
Go back to my.sc.edu and sign in to Self Service Carolina (SSC).
When you sign in, the system will give you three options – Click “Send me a push.”
The Duo Mobile App on your phone will then notify you to accept a push. You will click accept on your phone and you will be successfully logged in!
Log-in with your VIP ID and password (if you forgot your password, go to 'Re-set Your VIP ID Password')
Answer security questions.
If you forgot the answers to the security questions, you need to call University Technology Services (803-777-1800, Monday-Fri 8:00am-6:00pm), tell them you forgot the answers to your security questions, and ask them to reset your account.
Add your new phone number.
Next to your new number, you will see an “Activate” button. Click on this button and you will see a QR code.
Go into the Duo Mobile App and click the + on the top right corner.
Point your phone at the QR code on your computer screen.
Your new phone number will be added into your Duo Mobile App.
