Direct Admission students have met the qualifications for full degree-seeking admission. You are enrolled in a major and do not need to meet progression requirements. However, you need to meet all the same requirements as others in your major (GPA etc.) as well as stay in immigration compliance. Because you entered through the 'International Direct' admissions process, you are entitled to many things which other international students do not get, such as a dedicated Career Accelerator Advisor, academic and cultural support and much more. For your first two semesters, all tuition and fee payments, housing and health insurance payments are made through the USC IAP offices. Afterwards, you will pay the University directly. Please see http://www.uofsc.org/undergraduate/admission-direct/ for more details.
As an Academic Accelerator student, you are in 'conditional admission' status until you complete 30 or more credits and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.25. You are not yet enrolled in a major and have time to decide what major best fits your goals. Pre-sessional students (PSE) have already had their academic credentials evaluated by USC's Admissions Department for admissability, but you don't yet have the English levels to start the Accelerator Programs. You will take intensive English courses until you reach the level to move into the Accelerator Programs, at which point you will be in 'conditional admission' (non degree) status until you progress into degree-seeking status with 30 credits. Students may stay in the PSE program as long as they are making progress. For additional information, please see this link: http://www.uofsc.org/undergraduate/admission-pse/
Academic English students (AE) have already had their academic credentials evaluated by USC's Admissions Department for admissability but are participating in optional additional English before starting their program. You will take intensive English courses during your Academic English term.
