The Eversolo Play is an Android 11/Rockchip RK3588 based Audio streamer/player and Amplifier (2 x 110w at 4 Ohm). The firmware I used is 1.5.05
This popular device is reviewed many times already so I keep this page to inform you about my experiences with the device. What I like and what I don't like or should be improved. Eversolo updates and improvements keep are frequent.
If you are familiar with Android you recognize the inner workings. The OS in /system and userdata in /data with "Internal Storage".
You can build your local Library from Internal Storage, an external storage or files on a NAS (SMB/NFS/uPnP). This makes it easy to find, navigate and play your music files.
The is no Remote Control (bluetooth) in the box. But the App on your phone works perfect. You can even view the Player screen live on your phone, but live view uses a lot of battery though!
As an Amplifier i'm not convinced yet. Maybe after some burn-in hours. But I have heard/have better (more aggressive/spacious/detailed) Class-D amplifiers.
Edit 20 aug 2025: Returned the Eversolo Play to the shop. Think it will do very well with KEF LS50 Meta though. I wait for a version 2 with a better amp in it
User Interface
The Home Screen launcher is made by Eversolo. It is good to know there are Eversolo apps (called Music Services) and your standard Android apps.
The standard Android apps don't integrate with the Eversolo "Music Playback Screen". But hey, you can add apps yourself (USB stick/Browser) and that is a big plus. (Install the APK's via your Internet browser http://<ip>:18888/ )
You can upload songs to the players internal storage via a browser too: http://<ip>:9587/
The interface is operated by touch or via the app on your phone. On the screen you can swipe and use the navigation buttons.
Below are the tabbed main menu's (Bigger image? Right click the image > Image open in new tab)
The Music Playback Screen
When your are playing a from Music Service or a local/network source you get the Playback Screen.
There are 3 layouts that you can select by swiping left or right.
You find Meta data, Track info, Album Art, VU meter, Spectrum Analyzer, Lyrics,.....
A is for Lyrics (didn't work yet)
Declutter the screen
There are "tons of" apps installed or suggested.
Music Services and Eversolo Apps can be unselected to declutter the screen.

The Library
The Play can build a local stored database of music storage you can add to scan. For example add a path to the stored music files on your NAS or external harddrive. Adding files from a NAS via uPnP is very slow. Use a path to a SMB or NFS share instead. I have 8000+ music files and that was scanned in no time.
Any Music Stream or file can be stored as Favorite

USB CDROM
A 20 euro USB CD/DVD player is supported.
Album art and track info works fine.
Rip to Internal Storage or USB drive is possible too.
Wireless BT keyboard/mouse should work.
Maybe a USB FM/DAB+ dongle will work too?
Portable USB DVD player
Meta info added automatically
Bluetooth headset/speakers
One reason to use the native Android settings is to connect a Bluetooth speaker or headset to the Eversolo Play. This is (not yet?) supported via the Eversolo settings. I hope this feature is on the roadmap.
Install this APK to get into the native Android settings.
Since it is not official supported you cannot switch between normal Speakers and the bluetooth output. When you reconnect the bluetooth headphone the Speakers mute instantly.
Connected bluetooth headset
No official bluetooth output yet
ADB
Since adb over wifi is not working (device is offline) I won't go into that.
BUGS
HDMI ARC - When HDMI cable is connected to my TV it always switches audio on my TV to HMDI out. It should only do this when I select ARC on the player. So bit unusable like this.
Tunein: some streams don't play at all, some streams don't show Artist/Song which is strange.
