We have won a spot in the 2019 Florida Sea Base Lottery for one crew of Scouts (2 adults & 6 Scouts) for the Coral Reef Sailing Adventure in the Florida Keys. The trip is open to all Troop 27 Scouts who will be at least 13 years old at the start of the adventure in 2019. A crew must consist of at least 50% active Boy Scouts. Older Scouts that will turn 18 before July 9, 2019 may still be eligible to attend if at least 4 active Boy Scouts sign-up for the trip, and they submit an adult leader application to the troop for the position of Jr. Assistant Scoutmaster on the Troop Charter. They must take both Protecting God's Children, and BSA Youth protection, and safety afloat/BSA hazardous weather online training.

For this week in July 2019 your home will be on a large sailing vessel over 40 feet long. During the adventure, you will be sailing the Florida Keys and have the chance to snorkel some of the most beautiful reefs in the Keys and part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.

You will also have the opportunity to study astronomy, marine navigation, fish identification, and coral reef ecology. So join us for the Coral Reef Sailing Adventure, sharpen your navigational skills and enjoy snorkeling and deep sea fishing all in one package. Crew size 6-8. This is a seven day event.

The Sea Base fee per person (Adult or Scout) is $1,000. This will include:

• The activity fee for Sea Base (includes all meals while at Seabase/aboard boat)

• Round trip shuttle from Miami International Airport

• Use of all facilities including snorkel equipment (however recommended to bring your own if you have it

• Patches for all scouts/leaders

It does not include:

• Airfare from Newark to Miami (Est $380 Round Trip at current prices)

• Travel insurance (Est. $75 pp)

• Food/snacks outside of seabase

• Souvineer/gifts

Initial Deposits of $150 are due 4/1/2018

Second Deposit of $425 is due 10/1/2018

Final Deposit of $425 is due 2/1/2019
