Gettysburg Camping Oct 20-22 on the Battlefield w/Bikes!

We have the unique opportunity to camp on the actual historic Gettysburg battlefield on the Confederate side where Pickett's Charge originated in October in one of the most haunted places on the planet. I last camped at this site back in Oct 2012 and hear cannon fire at 2am! Don't miss a great trip. The tentative cost of the trip will be: $30 per person (Scout or adult Leader) inclusive of Camping, FOOD, Gettysburg Museum & Cyclorama, and a GHOST TOUR of the most haunted sites on Sat evening!

Friday, Oct 20th

Depart AOOL Parking Lot at 5:30pm. ETA at McMillan Woods Campground is 9:30pm. Please eat before you go or buy something on the way. We will be setting up our campsite in the dark, and will not be able to cook once we arrive.

Saturday, Oct 21st

7-8am Breakfast

8am Flag Ceremony

8:30am Bike to Gettysburg Visitors Center

10:30-12noon A Battlefield tour with National Park Ranger

12-2:30pm Brown bag lunch or buy lunch in visitor center, tour museum & cyclorama

2:30-3:30pm head to Little Round top for Ranger Lecture

View Civil War encampments on both the Confederate & Union sides of the battlefield along the way

4:30-6 Bike back to camp

Dinner 7-8:30pm

9:30pm Ghost Tour - Black Cat tour

Sunday, Oct 22nd

7-8am Breakfast

8-9am Camp breakdown to check out by 11am to head home.

If you can take bikes up with you please let me know. With my boys I can carry an additional 2 bikes. I know Mr. Lynch can take some with the truck, but we need room for Troop camp gear as well.
