Advanced Instructor Development Seminar
Overview
This advanced three-day workshop (new for 2023) will help instructors enhance and improve their presentation and teaching skills. The course focuses on classroom management and creating a productive learning environment that maximizes student involvement. This course will challenge instructors to take a critical look at traditional training philosophies and methodologies and to take their instruction to the next level.
Attendees will improve their skills in applying the teaching/learning process, giving effective presentations and facilitating group processes. The course has many hands-on practical exercises and projects.
Topics include:
Developing a curriculum
Preparing a presentation through the use of advanced PowerPoint techniques
Strategies to challenge students to develop an active learning environment
Embracing different training styles and methods
Enhancing learning through effective feedback
Prerequisite: Officers requesting to attend this program must have successfully completed the NHTSA Instructor Development course or equivalent and hold an MPCTC instructor certification.
Attire, Costs and Other Requirements
Students must bring note taking materials.
Dress is professional casual or uniform of the day.
