Happy New Year! I made it into Portland, OR, despite the ice storm and enjoyed my first SICB (Society for Integrative & Comparative Biology) conference this year. http://sicb.org/meetings/2016/index.php It was a big conference with extremely broad topics, which made for stimulating talks. I presented a talk on work showing that, in several captive-bred Peromyscus species: monogamous species showed higher attraction to conspecifics and novel stimuli; there were behavioral correlations at the individual level between some behaviors (activity and boldness; exploration and social preference); and these correlations were similar across mating systems and species. Stay tuned for more updates on this manuscript!
