14: Pro Matria Mori (Hazy Pale)

Pro Matria Mori (Hazy Pale) Batch #1 OG 1054-1008, ~ABV = ~5.9%, brewed 14/09/20):

A hazy pale in memory of the Wave Maiden closure :(

Bought dried hops (Mosaic) by mistake and brewed too much as the fermenter exploded. Ended up ok and a decent pint but need to keep to 5 gallons and pellet hops for the next batch!

Ingredients: 5,200g pale ale malt350g cara malt500g rye500g wheat

Note: Next brew reduce the Pale Malt by a kilo.

Mash/sparge: Mash 3.5gal water @ 85C, 90mSparge ~3gal @75C for 5.5g of wort, keeping 2" of head above grain bed and a slow trickle to the boiler.

Hops:
Mosaic: 25g, 60m
Cascade: 25g, 30m
Cascade: 50g, 0m
Dry Hop Mosaic: 75g ( 1 week)
Dry Hop Cascasde: 25g ( 1 week)

Yeast: SAFALE-04 (English)

FG 1008, ABV = (1054-1008)*0.129 = ~x.x% ABV, bottled 15/09/20

Priming Sugar: 5g granulated sugar per 500 ml
